Costain Awarded for being a Considerate Constructor
The contractors building the Harbour Way distributor road were recently rewarded for being a “considerate constructor” at a national awards ceremony.
The team behind the £107m project in Port Talbot were given a Bronze National Site award in March, with special commendation given for being considerate, respectful, responsible and a good neighbour.
They were also commended for their exceptional achievements in safety and protecting the environment.
Project Manager for Costain, John Skentelbery:
“It is a great honour to accept the Bronze award from the Considerate Constructors Scheme. We, at the Harbour Way project, pride ourselves in the work we are doing to try and help improve the image of construction within the areas in which we work, by being respectful, responsible and a good neighbour.
“Our site is subject to regular monitoring sessions throughout the year, which provide us with a score that we always aim to improve on.”
The 2012 Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards were presented to the 7.5% highest scoring construction sites throughout the UK taking part in the scheme and selected from over 8500 eligible sites.
