Costain Pledges Help to Local Children’s Charity
The Margam based Special Needs Activity Club, which was formed in 1993 by parents, not only offers a safe place for children with disabilities to play and learn, but also a much needed support network for the parents and families.
Costain, who have just begun major works on the £107 million dual carriageway in the town, have pledged to support the charity over the next year through fund raising activities within Neath Port Talbot and have set an ambitious target to raise £10,000 for the club.
John Skentelbery, Project Manager for Costain:
“At Costain, we pride ourselves on the support we offer the community groups and charities in the areas in which we work. By nominating SNAC as our chosen charity for the next twelve months shows that not only do we believe in the good work the centre is doing to help disabled children within the County Borough, but we also believe they have a positive impact on the community which will continue to do so in years to come.
“We are looking forward to working closely with SNAC to help them grow and improve on the excellent services they already offer to the children of Neath Port Talbot County Borough and their families.”
Councillor John Rogers, President of SNAC:
“I am delighted to be working with Costain to raise the profile of SNAC.
“The future of the centre relies on the generosity of others and through tireless fund raising from our members. To have Costain pledge to help us raise money for the club for the next year means that we will not only be able to cover the cost of our bills but can now look to renew our equipment.
“We are always grateful for any help as we believe that SNAC has proven to be a valuable asset to not only the children, but to their families too.”
