Harbour Way Supporting the Arts in Neath Port Talbot

27 April 2011

Costain, the contractors behind the new Harbour Way link road in Port Talbot, have been getting into the heart of the community, by giving a helping hand to local groups and charities.

Currently working on the £107m dual carriageway, that will link the M4 motorway to the town’s harbour side, the company are proving that they’re dedicated to investing in the future of the town and its residents.

Many projects within the community have already benefitted through their sponsorship programme, including the Port Talbot & District Amateur Operatic Society’s production of “Guys and Dolls” as well as the National Theatre Wales’ adaptation of “The Passion” with Michael Sheen.

John Skentelbery, Project Manager for Costain:

“Costain are working with Neath Port Talbot Council to help secure the future of the County Borough.  This isn’t just through building the new road, but by investing in the people of the town and their futures.  It is a pleasure for us to be involved in some fantastic community projects and I look forward to being involved in many more.”

The PassionLucy Davies, National Theatre Wales:

“The support and investment of a local company in a local arts project, such as Costain’s fantastic backing of “The Passion”, has more than just financial value. Forming partnerships across the cultural and business sectors enhances all of our work, and our relationships with the widest possible public. Where art flourishes, business flourishes, and so communities flourish.”
