Visitor Centre Open for New Road Advice
A purpose built visitor centre for the Harbour Way project is proving popular with Neath Port Talbot residents.
Open every Wednesday from 1pm – 6pm, it’s manned by the contractors behind the £107m project – Costain at their compound on North Bank Road.
It’s the perfect opportunity for people to meet the team, discuss any queries or questions they may have about the impact of the works on their daily life in the county borough or just find out more about the scheme.
An aerial shot of the town is on display at the centre giving a birds’ eye view of what the town will look like when the road is completed in 2013, as well as a wealth of information boards and a 3D visualisation DVD.
Ieuan Davies, Community Relations Manager:
“It is always a pleasure to meet the local residents of Neath Port Talbot, with many sharing their knowledge of the town, past and present, with us.
“It’s good to be able to talk to the residents of Port Talbot and answer any questions or queries they have and to show them the layout or the road. With the team of engineers and designers behind the project based on site, it’s also the perfect opportunity to meet our team.
“While most of the projects information can be found on the official website (www.harbourwayproject.com or www.harbourwayproject.com/cy for those who prefer to use Welsh) we understand that not everyone has internet access and many prefer to have their queries answered in person.”
