WWII shell discovered at Harbour Way

22 June 2011

A shell from what is believed to be a WWII bomb was discovered by site operatives working on the Harbour Way link road today, 22nd June, near the Cefn Gwrgan Bridge near the main entrance to Tata.

The Explosives Ordnance Disposal team attended and conducted tests to confirm it was not a danger to anyone and removed the shell from site.

The British Transport Police closed the London to Swansea railway line due to the close proximity of the find to the railway, but normal services were resumed without causing any disruption.
